A Solemn Tribute - 25th Annivesary of 9.11.2001

Personal and Professional Profile of the Presenter

Right Worshipful Moises I. Gomez

RW Gomez resides in Roselle, New Jersey with the love of his life, Wendi. His family left Cuba in 1956 to build a better life, and this country welcomed them with open arms. Guided by a deep sense of patriotism and gratitude, He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1984 and went on to establish a long, dedicated career in public service. He has worked for The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for 35 years as a member of the Emergency Services Unit stationed at the George Washington Bridge. In this capacity, He served proudly as a first responder to both terrorist attacks on our nation's soil (1993 and 2001).

Quote: " I was a member of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Emergency Service Unit, assigned to the Holland Tunnel, when the World Trade Center was attacked in 1993 and again in 2001. Those two days, separated by eight years, changed my life forever. In the aftermath, I was assigned to a special unit that worked below Ground Zero, retrieving vehicles, evidence, and other items considered important to the investigation and recovery effort. It was difficult, dangerous, and deeply personal work. What we saw and experienced there has stayed with me ever since."
